Going to HellA Story:

The jangling phone rang in the middle of the night.  Startled and groggy, the pastor answered, trying his best to sound as courteous and awake as he could: “Hello.” On the other end of the line came a slurred voice, asking, “Are you the preacher?”

“Yes, I am, ” he answered.  “It’s three o’clock in the morning! Why?”

This time, the voice on the other end shouted “Tell the Christians to go to hell!”

Who of us would not be annoyed at that moment?  Awakened in the middle of the night only to be yelled and cursed at.  But that drunken caller was – in his own way – restating the purpose of every follower of Jesus.  “Hell” is the place followers of Jesus are called to do their work as disciples.  Hell is the place we are to occupy until it is transformed into part of the Kingdom of God.

Truth is, hell is the territory of every believer.  There are no “out of bounds” areas for those who claim to be followers of Jesus.
